About i-SAIRAS 2024
Celebrating i-SAIRAS 2024
I am delighted to reflect on the success of the International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Automation in Space (i-SAIRAS 2024), hosted by Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, in Brisbane on 19–21 November 2024.
i-SAIRAS is an biennial event that brings together the international space community to explore the latest advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation for space applications. Over three days, the symposium provided an exciting platform for agencies, researchers, and industry professionals engaged in the fields of AI, robotics, and space exploration to share knowledge, foster collaborations, and help shape the future of space technology.
The theme for i-SAIRAS 2024 was New Frontiers: Harnessing AI, Automation and Robotics for Space Exploration and Earth's Challenges. The Symposium included a special focus on exploring the interconnection between advancements on Earth and their applications in space exploration, a critical area for accelerating technology development and enabling faster transfer of capability between terrestrial and space domains.
i-SAIRAS 2024 marked the first time this international event was held in Australia in its 25-year history. With attendees and presenters from space agencies, space-related industry, and technology companies around the world, i-SAIRAS 2024 provided a global platform for sharing ideas and technologies with representatives from the major space agencies.
Thank you to all participants, speakers, sponsors, partners, and organisers for contributing to i-SAIRAS 2024, and for the energy and professionalism that made the Symposium such a rewarding event.
